Flying Dutchman World Championship, Balatonföldvár – Day 2

The day started with postponement, due to lack of wind. In the afternoon two races were successfully completed in gradually strengthening wind. Race 3 was won with impressive lead by the 9 times World Champion Majthényi – Domokos team. Their great rival, DEN 21 Bojsen-Moller brothers finished 3rd.

Race 4 started in fresh wind, which gradually increased to Bft 5-6. Many boats had technical problems, more than 30 of them had to retire from the race. Among the non-finishers were local heroes team Majthenyi–Domokos, who decided to withdraw from this race after an encounter with the right of way Bojsen-Moller team.

Preliminary results after 4 races: 1 NED 26. Kramer – Geelkerken, 2. GER 88 Lüdtke – Schafers, 3. AUT 38 Aichholzer – Zingerle.  

For Wenesday another 2 races are planned.
