1. ORGANISING AUTHORITY
The Organising Authority is the Spartacus Sailing Club in conjunction with the European 18 Foot skiff Association.

2. RULES
The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2009-2012.

3. ADVERTISING
Advertising is permitted according to Class Rules. To conform with regulation 20.4 ISAF, the Organizing Authority may ask competitors to display sponsor flag and/or stickers. Flag and/or stickers must be displayed from Thursday the 12th  May until the end of the event. The correct procedure will be detailed in the sailing instructions.

4. ELIGIBILITY
4.1 All boats of 18foot Class, measured according to the Class Regulations, whose crew conform to the Rules of the Class and have paid their Class subscriptions, will be able to enter ..
4.2 Foreigner owners shall comply with the rules of their own countries.

5. ENTRIES
Entries will be on the website of the European class (www:18footer.org) until 1sst of May and be forwarded to the club. Entry fee over the European class: € 170,00.
Late Entry forms can be downloaded from the website www.spartacus.hu , by 1th of May 2012.and will be € 220,-.
Late Entry  Payments can be made at registration by cash.
The completion of Registration shall be made at the secretary’s office of the Spartacus Sailing Club before 11.00 a.m. on Thursday 10/05/2012.

6. EVENT SCHEDULE
If possible, 10 races are scheduled, a maximum of 4 races may be sailed in the same day. The organizing committee  plans to hold one long distance race. See details in the sailing instruction.

Thursday – 10th May
Registration,  from 9.00 to 11.00 a.m.
Briefing for all crews at 11.30 a.m.
Start 1st race at 1.00 p.m.
Race 2 ASAP after Race 1

Friday – 11th May
At 10.00 a.m. – briefing for all crews
Start time of Races see at Notice board.
Races 3 – 4 – 5
“Gulash” party after races

Saturday – 12th May
At 10.00 a.m. – briefing for all crews
Start time of Races see at Notice board.
Races 6 – 7 – 8
Social event at club

Sunday – 13th May
At 10.00 a.m. – briefing for all crews
Start time of Races see at Notice board.
Races 9 – 10
Final race starting before 3.00 p.m.
Prize-giving immediately after last race.

7. MEASUREMENT
7.1 All competitors can use maximum 2 mainsails, 2 jibs and 2 gennaker for registration and marking.

8. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
8.1 The Sailing Instructions will be issued to each competitor on completion of Registration.

9.  WIND CONDITIONS
9.1 The minimum wind speed for starting will be 5 kn. Race Committee considers the boats have sufficient capability for pre-start maneuvers.
9.2 Races should not start, or races in progress should be abandoned when wind gust exceed 25 kn. Continuously for more than 30 seconds.

10. SCORING AND CLASSIFICATION
10.1 The Low Point System of Appendix ‘A’ will apply.
10.2 At least 6 races shall be completed to constitute a valid series. If 5 or more races are completed, there will be one discard. If 9 or more races are completed, there will be 2 discards. The long distance races will score twice.

11. PRIZES
11.1 Prizes for the first 3 classified boats.

12. INSURANCE
All yachts shall hold a valid third party liability policy for a minimum of 1,500,000.00 € third party liability. When completing Registration to the Event, this policy must be shown to the Regatta Office.

13. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to Race. The Organizing Authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.

14. PHOTOGRAPHS AND TV RIGHTS
By participating in this race, a competitor automatically grants to the Organizing Authority, the Class Association, Management Group and the Sponsor the right in perpetuity to make use of and show, at their discretion, any motion pictures, still photographs, live or taped film or video on television and/or other media, showing him/her during the period of the competition, as well as to use such contents in any media whatsoever, for either editorial or advertising purposes or to be used in press information without compensation.

15. PARKING
Please note that ONLY TRAILERS can park at the club.

16. ACCOMODATION
Competitors may have free bunk-bed accommodation in limited numbers.
